Do you want to write a better site than this current one? Equipped with a search functionality or one that works better with movile devices? Or just use the youth programme open data in your project?
www.partio-ohjelma.fi runs on a WordPress and delivers the Scouting Programme for frontend devices (desktop and mobile). Some pages are created statically directly into this frontend, but the majority of the data including all the tips, activities, activitygroups and agegroups are imported dynamically from the POF-backend. The front is maintained and made by Geniem. The source code for the front is published in the github-account for the scouts and guides so that also volunteers may write software. Pull requests made by volunteers are reviewed and approved by Geniem.
POF-backend is the open data storage for the youth programme. It is based on a WordPress and offers a JSON-API from which to read the data and suggest your own tips for activities. In the near future it will be integrated at least to the membership register Kuksa. We also have plans to create several new services and apps that use the youth programme data. More information may be found from the documentation of the backend, unfortunately still mostly only in finnish. The POF-backend is done by Oskari Kokko and the source code is published in the github-account for the scouts and guides so that also volunteers may write software. Pull requests made by volunteers are reviewed and approved by Geniem.
The Github-account for guides and scouts The guides and scouts maintain their own github-account partio-scout where you can find many similar projects and examples on how to integrate also with other services (PartioID, Kuksa, Jemma jne.) maintained by the guides and scouts. We hope that you will also contribute your scouting and guiding software there under an open source license.
