Goal
The child understands where fish come from. The family knows how to operate safely near water.
Description
The family scout group makes a fishing trip. Angling and ice fishing trips are easy to arrange, but if there are fishing experts present the family scout group can try other forms of fishing, as well.

Task for the leader
The leader’s main duty is to take care of safety during the activity. The leader encourages families to allow children to explore the beach. The leader ensures that there is enough fishing gear for all. If there are no fishing experts in the group, the leader can ask one of the local group leaders to come and help.
